Homework Answer on Advertising Regulation
Effective advertising and the marketing of services and products plays a crucial role in promoting the success of any business. However, business ventures have a legal obligation to ensure that the contents of their advertisements are not deceptive, untruthful, and operate within the confines of the law (Blades et al., 2014)
Advertising plays a pertinent role in the promotion of all market economics. Calvet and Barbara (2010) note that it stimulates innovation, encourages competition, and enhances consumers’ choices. It is a swift way of keeping consumers informed on the current market trends and maintain market share. In addition, advertisement plays a crucial role in the event that the marketer wants to introduce a new brand in the market or when he wants to make improvements on the existing product to attract more customers.
The fulfillment of this noble task requires marketers to cultivate a high level of consumer confidence throughout. This can be realized when the advertising companies are guided by decency, truthfulness, and honesty. There is a high likelihood that those consumers who are misled by advertising will feel offended thus making them not to buy the products. It is in the interest of the advertising corporations to ensure that advertising is adequately based on the law (Lord, 2014).
