The roles would include examining critical issues that are currently affecting the organization. There are certain risks that when not handled properly might make an organization to fail. After such issues are identified, planning mechanisms are put in places that are in line with the goals and objectives of the organization.Second role is to be involved in decision making that will stipulate guidelines that the organization can follow to ensure success.
This will bring the bigger picture of decisions that are likely to impact positively on the activities of the organization.The other role is to assist in team development to facilitate the planning process. As a team player, I will provide the directions and visions that are again communicated to the team members. Once a team is established, it is now the responsibility of each member to come up with competitive advantage that would otherwise make the organization to succeed in the achievement of goals and objectives.
What are your experiences in organizational planning?
First, if there is poor leadership or lack of leadership then a plan is likely to fail. Cases will also occur where leaders or team members do not support the organizational planning process; it is still bound to fail. Team member or leader should be actively engaged in process through strategic thinking that is well guided on the visions missions and values of the organization.
