Marriot Hotels is one of the holdings that Marriot International, Inc. owns. The company has no mission statement, but instead has a set of core values and heritages that are quite similar to its Mission Statement. According to the company, “Our core values make us who we are. As we change and grow, the beliefs that are most important to us stay the same-putting people first, pursuing excellence, embracing change, acting with integrity and serving our world,” are the major values that guide its operation (Core Values & Heritage, 1).
By putting people first, the company has had a philosophy to give its associates the opportunity to individually grow or develop and equally succeed (Core Values & Heritage, 1). The company treats its associates with respect and this ensures that the associates similarly treat their customers with respect.
Pursuing excellence means that the executive management of Marriot Hotels seeks to offer good services and food to her clients at affordable prices, and this is their identity worldwide (Core Values & Heritage, 1). Embracing change, being a third value of the hotel, illustrates that the company makes use of innovative approaches to meet their customer’s changing expectations and need, and similarly avail new guest experiences and brands. By doing so, the company has contributed positively in giving the contemporary industry of hospitality a new shape (Core Values & Heritage, 1).
