Ajax minerals is a mining company in the United States that experiences poor management labor interrelationships, and it is faced with probable threats from a competitive company. Within the next three years, Pacific Rim companies will be in a position to mine and ship similar minerals in the U.S. This threat emanates from a probable competitor Pacific Rim Companies entering into the mining market of the United States that is Ajax’s main market. The latter had the ability and resources to carry out cheaper mining exercises and export minerals (Waddell & Sohal, 2008).
Ajax workers did not discover the probable threat that the new company would have. Besides, the only interest for other employees and supervisors was their pay and overtime dues. Because of the worry and fears of uncertainty, the supervisors and workers of Ajax minerals resisted to change. Additionally, workers are of the view that latest changes may have negative impacts on their interests. Organizational life in any work place has a related aspect that results in resistance to change that may have an indirect or direct effects on the salary of workers.
