Disasters that could lead to mass casualties in New York queens are many and may include the natural disasters like the hurricanes, flooding, terrorist attacks, earthquakes and tornadoes. Amongst them, those that can be predictable include hurricanes, flood and earthquakes. Previously, hurricanes have destroyed the area and left score of people injured.
When disaster strikes, or if it is predicted that it is likely to impact the environment, there are some precautions that can be taken to reduce its impact. Structured and unstructured measures can be undertaken to address the issue. Some of these precautions include enforcing the necessary building codes and infrastructure designs that could enhance the stability of building so that they can withstand catastrophe (Kunreuther, 2006).
