Officer involved shootings
This article gives an instinctive look at the real motive behind the media always reporting on cases related to the police actions, social misbehavior and racism on whites against the black Americans. It also connotes that the media has the sole business intention of getting high ratings to build its sales. In so doing, they tend to air contemporary issues that catch the attention of the public regardless of the ultimate consequences. The most publicized issues here are facts on the social misdemeanor, the moral decadence, and racism among others. The overriding thesis in this article is the intention of the media when they relay information to the general public/consumers.
No child left behind
This article is quite antagonistic on the federal act enacted by the former president G.W Bush that insisted on standardized testing in every school to promote equality in the provision of education in both the elementary and the high schools. The author is fast to give a proactive assertion that even though the act was instituted; it brought much pressure on the school teachers which made the general quality of education to flop. The general idea given out in this piece is the need to change the education system for the better. The main reason for this change is because the current education system instituted by the act is rather harmful than good.
The blame game
This article gives a general view on the impact that the teacher has on the development of a child in their school going stages. It accentuates the significance of a teacher delivering the knowledge in an enthusiastic way with high level of commitment to the child being taught. The high concentration to the subject matter and the student will give the child a good lasting memory to their teacher. This move, as the author connotes, will help the child grow into an all round person with high standards of discipline and respect. The thesis statement postulated here is the need to employ teachers who are committed to their work and has the main purpose of diligently teaching the students and scrapping out those who are neither interest in the subject matter nor the students.
