  • Write a three(3) page paper in which you:
  1. Compare and contrast natural versus anthropogenic climate changes. Include at least two (2) specific examples of each.
  2. Take a position as to whether or not global warming is taking place. Provide three (3) lines of evidence to support your position.
  3. Assess two (2) current mitigation strategies for global warming, such as carbon sequestration, carbon taxing, clean coal technology, higher fuel efficiency standards, and so on. Analyze the effectiveness of this mitigation strategy, as well as its potential costs and policy implications.
  4. Speculate on the policy changes that you would propose to help stabilize global climate and determine the business sectors or nations that would be held to more strict standards if you were to implement your proposed policies.

        Homework Answer on Global Warming

This is the permanent change of the earth’s climate through a gradual increase of temperatures in the atmosphere and oceans. Global warming is believed to be majorly caused by the increase in volume of green house gases, primarily carbon dioxide, which are generated as a result of burning fossil fuels, bad agricultural practices, and industrialization among others (Njau, 2011).

Natural climate change is one of the contributors to the existence of global warming. This involves changes in the weather conditions of the earth as a result of natural factors which are regarded to be external to the climate system. The major natural factors that contribute to climate changes are; volcanic activities and solar radiations. Volcanic eruptions accumulate sulphur dioxide, water vapor, and dust particles into the atmosphere, which contribute to the rise of temperatures. In addition, solar irradiance increases the volumes of green house gases in the atmosphere, which is the key contributor of global warming.

Anthropogenic climate change is the major cause of global warming in the recent days. This is the change that is experienced on the earth’s climate due to human activities on the earth’s surface (Daly, 2012). These human activities contribute to the increment in volume of green house gases, aerosols and cloudiness. The largest contributor of these changes is the combustion of fossil fuels that is liable of releasing high quantities of green house gases to the earth’s atmosphere. In addition, poor land usage programs like deforestation raises the amount of sunlight reflected back to space thereby increasing the green house gases in the atmosphere too.
