Homework Answer on Leadership is Critical in the Success of Any Criminal Justice Agency
The main aim of criminal justice agencies is controlling crime and imposing penalties on the individuals who violate laws (Allen & Sawhney, 2010). This is a very wide field, which involves various departments and people. For example, there are managers, prison wardens, police chiefs, judges, among other people. All these people are required to work together in order to have a success in the entire activities of the criminal justice system.
In fact, the success of any criminal justice agency will depend on the role that is played by each individual person involved in the process. However, whenever people are placed in any group that comprises more than one person with an aim of achieving a certain goal, leadership becomes essential to the success of that group. Therefore, leadership is very fundamental in the success of any criminal agency.
To begin with, leadership is important in the planning and organization of the activities of the criminal justice agencies. As stated earlier, the success of any criminal justice agency depend on the role played by each individual person. Through planning, the leaders are able to determine the individual actions that their agencies need to undertake in order to achieve their objectives (Carpenter & Fulton, 2007). Once this is achieved, leaders are able to create the course of action that will accommodate the chosen actions.
