How to easily compress images/pictures for the web for faster loading of pages using Microsoft word

First thing you should note is that jpg image format is the best for web. Therefore make sure your image is in jpg. However if your image is in png format and want to change it to jpg format you can easily do it without needing an application or software. Now that your image is in png format, right click on the image and choose the option of open with as seen in the screen shot below:

Then choose Microsoft office picture manager.

Now that the image is open in Microsoft picture manager, choose picture tab at the top of the tab bar or the edit picture command on the shortcuts tab.

On the right hand side you will see compress picture setting and under that you will find various options to choose from depending on the use you want for your picture.

Click on the option of web pages and click ok.

You will notice the reduced size of image in KBs as seen below:

After that you are now good to go but remember to save the changes you have done on your picture and upload on wherever you want to.

NB: This process can also be used to compress picture for email or a document or an email message. You just need to choose the appropriate option while compressing.

Always have a backup of the original in case things go wrong.
